Hi! 😀 My name is Máté Bikfalvi and I’m the owner of Pennonia.
I’m just a regular guy who loves fountain pens, inks and handwriting. I have worked 10 years as a teacher and naturally throughout my career I have continuously used fountain pens whenever I had the chance.
Pennonia sprung to life in 2018 out of passion for this hobby and all things fountain pen. At first, the original plan was to sell fountain pens and related accessories however I knew in order to stand out from the crowd, Pennonia needed to offer something the other established shops couldn’t.
It took a lot of research, preparation and luck but finally in February 2020 I launched a line of fountain pen inks completely handmade by myself. 🧪 At the end of 2020 I have decided to completely focus on ink making and stopped selling fountain pens and inks from other brands.
Currently the company is officially based out of a little town in Romania called Carei which often times confuses customers because Pennonia is marketed as a Hungarian brand and in reality Pennonia is a bit of both.
To my knowledge I was the first to introduce mixable liquid shimmer additives to the community in August 2020.
Fountain pen inks are innovative field and through Pennonia I not only wish to provide high quality, competitive and innovative products but also to share the joy and love of fountain pen inks just as I have felt back when I started my journey into this magnificent hobby!
