In search of the best paper for fountain pen use

Final Thoughts

Phew, it took quite some time to arrive to the end of this article! I had the chance to try out some really nice papers and I still have a couple in my drawer that I didn’t have the chance to try out as of yet.

Did I find my dream paper or is the search still on? I honestly don’t know. I don’t think I can claim I have found the best paper out there just by checking the ones in this list. All of them had something with which I had a problem, even Tomoe River which I find to easy to crumple and it’s thinness forces me to handle it with care.

If I had to choose top 5 in no specific order my choices would be:

  1. Tomoe River Paper 52 g/m2
  2. Gmund Blocker Paper
  3. Hahnemuhle Layout 75 g/m2
  4. Maruman Croquis 52.3 g/m2
  5. Maruman Report Pad 60 g/m2

I also see myself and or I’m already using: Clairfontaine Clairmail, Fabriano Ecoqua, Rhodia Dotpad

but in the future I will be sticking to my current top 5 list once I finish off my supplies.

Here’s a nifty price comparison chart as well. It compares the different papers on how much 10 A5 sheets of them would cost.

If you have any thoughts, comments or suggestions please let me know. I would love to hear what you guys consider to be the best or really good papers which I didn’t cover in this article.

Thank you for reading! Bye for now! ๐Ÿ˜€
